Research area:
Synthesis and study of reactivity of polyhedral boranes, carboranes, and metallacarboranes. Development of methods of introduction of functional groups to boron polyhedrons in order to prepare conjugates with different biomolecules (amino acids, nucleosides, carbohydrides, lipids, porphyrins, phthalocyanines). Search of application of compounds prepared in medicine for diagnostics of malignant tumours and for boron neutron capture therapy of cancer. Development of new methods for the synthesis of practically valuable metal-containing compounds used for molecular conductors, semiconductor and ceramic materials.
