Equipment

The instruments in the X-Ray Structural Centre include:

• One Bruker-AXS platform diffractometer with SMART 1000 CCD area detector. The instrument is equipped with Oxford Cryostream Cooler.
• Two Siemens P3/PC diffractometer.
• One CAD 4 diffractometer.
• One Syntex P2₁ diffractometer equipped with LT-1 low-temperature system.
• Two Silicon Graphics work stations.

All instruments are controlled by PC computers. The Bruker-AXS SHELXTL programs for structure solution, refinement and graphical presentation, and the Cambridge Structural Database are the software most often used in XRSC.
